The Apple co-founder and former CEO “worked closely on the redesigned phone before his death in October,” according to a report from Bloomberg, which did not identify the source.

The Phone’s design was in the works before the release of the iPhone 4S, giving Jobs plenty of opportunity to contribute, the report added. Apple’s next iteration of the iPhone, with a rumored 4-inch screen is due by October, according to various analysts. Other key features of the next iPhone are expected to include 4G LTE and thinner/stronger Gorilla Glass 2. An updated Apple A series processor is also likely but don’t count on the A5X used in the third-generation iPad. A quad-core graphics chip just isn’t necessary for the smaller screen, even with Retina resolution.

The upcoming iPhone “was the last project that Steve Jobs was intimately involved with from concept to final design. For that reason…this product will establish the high water mark for iPhone volumes,” Ashok Kumar said back in October. He is now an analyst at the Maxim Group. Kumar said he expects the iPhone 5 to be a “cult classic” because of Jobs’ involvement.

It’s like Iron Man except instead of important world-saving information you’re answering your friend’s text messages and learning about delays on the subway. The Google team that’s working on the project says they’ve opened it up to the public to solicit ideas about what people actually want from a set of augmented reality specs.

Google Glasses basically seem like a smartphone notification system that allows you to respond to notifications in with your voice. Without actually trying the glasses on, the experience seems like something not only useful, but enjoyable. People might actually wear them if they can get over how nerdy they look and the glasses look very nerdy indeed! Google rounded up some pretty hip-looking kids to model the prototypes, and man they really are not cool looking. Instead of something out of visionary sci-fi, the glasses look like what the nerds buried in basement laboratories wear—and not in the good way. But remember, these are only prototypes. Plus, if the functionality of the glasses is incredible, it won’t matter one bit how they look. If the rumors hold up, and Google plans to have these out by the holidays, we’ll know by the end of the year.

A Russian antivirus company claims that some 600,000 Macs — most in the U.S. and Canada — are infected with a trojan horse virus called “Flashback.”

The company, Dr. Web, issued a report on Wednesday that claimed 550,000 computers running Mac OSX were subject to Flashback. Later, Sorokin Ivan, an analyst at Dr. Web, sent a tweet upgrading the figure to 600,000 and added that 274 were based in Cupertino, Calif., Apple’s hometown. Fifty-seven percent of all Macs affected are in the U.S., while another 20% are based in Canada, according to the company.

Flashback was originally discovered in September 2011 and was designed to disguise itself as an Adobe Flash Player installer, using Flash player logos. After installing Flashback, the malware seeks out user names and passwords that are stored on your Mac.

The resurgence of Flashback appears to take advantage of Java runtime for OSX. Apple issued a patch this week though it didn’t mention Flashback by name. The patch is available for OSX 10.6 and 10.7 as well as for OSX Lion 2012-001.

The attack comes after Apple continues to position OS X as a more secure alternative to Windows. “A Mac isn’t susceptible to the thousands of viruses plaguing Windows-based computers,” reads a message on Apple’s homepage. “That’s thanks to built-in defenses in Mac OS X that keep you safe, without any work on your part.”

Chief among them is the Retina Display, delivering some of the best visual quality seen to date. In addition, Apple has bundled the new A5X processor in the tablet, as well as the recently launched iOS 5.1. In many ways, the new iPad is a step up over the iPad 2. That said, for every welcome feature that came to the new iPad, there’s another that many folks won’t like so much. Unfortunately, Apple didn’t fully commit itself to launching a device that comes with every single feature consumers and business buyers were after. For everything users will be happy to find in the new iPad, there’s something else that will disappoint you.
